Alexis is 6 weeks old & Zoo pictures

My sweet baby Alexis is 6 weeks old today!!!!!  I'm not sure how this is possible!  She has grown so much and is awake a lot more these days.  I love her mild personality.  She is such a good baby!  We are so thankful for this adorable little girl!

I looked back and realized that I haven't written nearly as much for Alexis as I did for Hudson.  I feel really bad about that, but it isn't because we don't celebrate each milestone or do fun things with our children.  It is because after we do all those fun things and celebrate all those precious moments there just isn't enough time to write them all down....  I cherish all the special "events" but don't always have the time later to write down every detail.  It doesn't mean it was any less special or wonderful.

With that being said I want to share that Alexis celebrated her first EASTER this past weekend!  It was fantastic and hopefully I'll have time to go back and write all about it later.  hehe  My mom and I also took Alexis and Hudson to the zoo this week (Alexis' first time there) while Steve was in Chicago on a business trip.  This week was also Alexis' first long car ride and trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house!  There were a lot of firsts this week!

At 6 weeks old Alexis:

• wears size 0-3 month clothes
• wears size 1 diapers
• sleeps regularly through the night 10:30-7:00am
• still has lots and lots of dark hair
• loves to be held
• laughs and smiles to herself
• loves wearing hair bows! :)
• enjoys bath time

Alexis' 1 Month Checkup and Stats

My princess had her one month checkup today.  Up until now I have had help getting both kids to the doctor, but not today!  How hard could it really be anyway?  I mean, I take them both to the store by myself....  HAHAHAHAHA  IT IS/WAS CRAZY HARD!  Keeping Hud from getting into everything while trying to feed a hungry baby is next to impossible.

BUT, we made it!  haha  Mom WIN for the day!

Alexis is just perfect.  She has finally gained weight and caught up to her height.  She is now in the 67th percentile for weight and 69th for height.

She had to have her Hep B booster shot, but did great.  There were a few tears but Hud was singing the ABC's to her and I think that really helped ;)

I am so thankful to have two healthy babies!  GOD IS SO GOOD!

Alexis,

In the past month your Daddy, brother, and I have fallen head over heals in love with you.  Your sweet personality and chunky cheeks are irresistible.  I had no idea I was capable of this much love until you came along.  You have made the transition into being a parent to two so easy.  I am so thankful that you   sleep so well at night and are generally very happy.  I love watching you sleep.  It is one of my favorite times of day when I get to hold you while you are sound asleep.  Every now and then you will smile or even laugh in your sleep.  THAT is heaven on earth.

You are so loved Alexis and I can't imagine my life without you.  It is hard to remember our lives before you were born.  Having you here just seems like the final peace of the puzzle has been put into place.  We are whole and complete with you here.

At 1 month old Alexis:

• sleeps a lot
• loves to be held and cuddled
• sleeps in the pack n' play most of the time
• likes the swing
• has started following and tracking us with her eyes
• uses her pacci sometimes
• hates being in her car seat
• nurses but has had a couple bottles when we go out

Alexis is FOUR yes, 4 weeks old!

My sweet little baby girl is 4 weeks old today!  It seems like so long ago that we were in the hospital on her birthday!  She is just the cutest thing ever!  It is crazy how much I love this little girl.  But, I'm not the only one Oooing and Ahhing over her.  The Grandparents, Steve, AND HUDSON all adore her.  Every time Hud sees Alexis he says "look at the cute baby" and rubs her little head gently.  He loves all the sounds she makes.  The other day he said that she was "quacking like a duck"!  Usually he just says "she is squeaking". 

We had family pictures taken this week!  That was fun because this was the first time we had pictures taken as a family of four (minus the hospital pictures).  I can't wait to see how they turned out!

It's so weird, because at 4 weeks postpartum I feel like I look a lot better than I did after Hudson was born, BUT non of my pre-pregnancy (or non pregnancy) clothes fit....  YES, I am still wearing either maternity pants (jeans) or my O-So-Comfortable Black Yoga Pants.  I didn't feel like I gained as much weight this time around, but everything seems to have shifted.  My hips are much wider now.  I don't know, maybe its just me, but my body doesn't want to "bounce back" as easy this time (not that it ever really got back to normal before).  I just hope I can pull off the sporty t-shirt and cropped leggins look most of the summer.   Don't even get me started on what I'm going to do about swimwear!  UGH 

I LOVE MY KIDDOS!  THEY ARE THE BEST!

At 4 weeks old,  Alexis:

• Wears size 1 diapers
• wears NB clothes, but could possible start to transition into some 0-3 months
• sleeps really well most nights
• started having tummy issues (gas) but we got some medication to help with that
• Went to the zoo this past week for the first time
• Is a very happy and easygoing baby
• Can find her hair and sometimes tries to pull it out
• gets her nails trimmed each week because they grow so fast
• her hair is getting lighter
• Makes all sorts of sweet noises to get your attention
• HATES to be swaddled!!!! 
• likes her pacci & Hud likes to put it shove it in her mouth....
• Takes naps in her crib (sometimes)

Funny Stuff

My little man Hudson has turned into quite the comedian.  In the past week alone this kid has made me laugh more times than I could count.  I don't want to forget these cute little things so I figured I'd write them down.

Me:  Hudson can you help mommy ____?
Hudson:  Of Corse Mommy!

Alexis is 3 weeks old today!

When you leave the hospital, they give you a chart to fill out every time the baby eats, poops, or pees.  Today is the last day to fill out on Alexis' chart!  Where has the time gone?!?!  The past 3 weeks seem like such a blur.  A lot has happened (I think) but I can't really remember anything before my coffee TODAY....  haha

At 3 months Alexis:

• Wears newborn clothes
• Is in size 1 diapers (she could probably still wear nb but we didn't want to keep buying boxes of them when we already had a lot of size 1)
• Still has a head full of hair, but it seems like it's lightening up
• Has decided sleep is for the birds!  haha  She is soooo good, but recently doesn't want to sleep at night.  Girrrrr  What happened to my perfect little sleeper.
• Eats 8x a day

I love having Alexis here and can't imagine my life without her!
