Baby # 2 Is A....

We are shocked and excited and can't wait to be parents to a boy and a girl.  The baby was doing great and had a HR between 148 and 160 while we were there.

God is so good!

Fun Weekend

This weekend Steve and I got to have a fun date night at our neighborhood Lodge.  A couple comedians put on a show and we had a great time.  I had fun getting all dressed up and trying to figure out what to wear with my growing belly.

THE BUMP! at 15+ weeks

We did a lot of house work this weekend.  Hopefully it will get painted soon.  Saturday morning I got up early and made yummy cinnamon rolls.  They were AMAZING!  Even Hudson thought so!

Look at that boy eat!  :)

In other news, today I have my 16 week doctor appointment and hopefully we will find out if baby farmer is a boy or a girl.  I don't want to get my hopes up, because I know all too well that babies don't always cooperate (HUDSON).  hehe  This morning I did pick up a soda and candy bar to eat/drink about an hour before the ultrasound so hopefully baby will be awake and willing to show us his/her goods!  hehe

We still haven't told everyone our big news.  Steve and my parents are really starting to try to convince me that we should do it soon.  hehe  I just love having this BIG secret, but I completely understand their desire to tell everyone.  Maybe after we find out today, we will tell the world.   I just don't know.  I want to do it in a fun way, so we will see.

Steve and I have been tossing around names that we like, but we don't have anything set in stone.  I feel kind of bad, because with Hudson, we already knew what his name would be when we found out the gender.  I really hope we can figure out a name soon.  It is killing me to not have a name for this baby.

After today, it is all GO for baby shopping.  We will need furniture and bedding among other things.  If it is a boy, we wont need as many clothes, because Hudson has a lot of good condition outfits to pass down.  If it's a girl, Steve's in trouble.  :)

Can you tell I'm getting really excited about this afternoon?!?!  I have been sooooo calm up until yesterday.  I tried not to think about today, but last night I was so excited I couldn't sleep at all!  I tossed and turned all night.  hehe  WE ARE SOOOO EXCITED!

Well, I better go.  Just a few more hours until we get to see our sweet baby again and hopefully find out the sex!  AHHHHHHHHHHH  Somebody pinch me!

Precious Moments

Today was the first day of the new women's bible study I am doing.  I am at a table with our neighbor and a few other girls I have met before.  They are all so nice and I really feel that this is where I'm supposed to be.  We were chatting toward the end and people were asking me about the move and how we are getting adjusted and I just started crying.  Tears just filled my eyes.  I think it had a lot to do with hormones, but also because I just don't have many friends here.  It is hard being a stay at home mom, especially when you move to a new area and don't know many people at all.  I am so thankful for our wonderful neighbors and am so excited for what this biblestudy has in store for me.

After bible study Hudson and I had to run a few errands.  One of my best friends from collage is getting married next month and her batchlorette party is this weekend.  Anyway, we went to the mall and got Christie's gift and then had lunch at the food court.  While we were praying Hudson started chiming in where he knew the words.  It was so precious.  After lunch we walked the mall and shopped some more.  Hudson was wonderful.  I got him a chocolate chip cookie and we sat and watched the water fountain.  Hud was mesmorized by the fountains.  He even got to toss a penny in the water.

I know it doesn't sound like anything special, but this was such a fun and great day.  I loved spending every second with Hud, holding hands and walking the mall.  He made silly faces and I would laugh.  I couldn't get him to share his cookie with me but that's alright.  :)  This day was just so special because it was just the two of us, getting out of the house and spending time together doing fun things (cookies and fountains for him & shopping for me).

I love this kid more and more every day!   xoxo

13 weeks with baby # 2

This week baby 2 is the size of a peach!

I went to the doctor today and had an ultrasound done.  I was supposed to be getting genetic testing (ultrasound, exam, and labs) but things just didn't work out so I got to see the baby, but couldn't get the test.  First my bladder was not full enough, then it was too full, then the baby was just not in the right position to get the measurements needed for the test.  O-well.  At least I got to see how adorable this baby is!  He/She was sucking his/her thumb, kicking, and rolling over.  Soooo sweet!

I tried to flip these pictures around, but ever time I uploaded them they went back to this.

Anyway, the baby's heartrate was a healthy 148.  Everything looked great and our due date is still March 17th.  I don't know if I agree with the date, but we will just have to wait and see.  I was hoping to get a good shot of the baby's goods, but there wasn't a chance we were going to be able to guess gender.  This baby was all wiggels today. :)

Right now, if I had to guess, I would say it is a boy.  I say that because I'm not really creaving sweets, the heart rate was in the 140's and I don't know.  Just a gut feeling.  Hopefully in three weeks we will know for sure.  I can't wait to find out.  Then we can really start preparing.

This week I feel great.  I'm not vomiting anymore and the neasua has lessened.  My energy seems to be rising.  Those first few weeks are the hardest, but after that (fingers crossed) it will be smooth sailing.

O, I really like my doctor.  Dr. Michele Johnson.  She was so nice and outgoing.  I am going to request that she be my doctor and the one I see throught the rest of this pregnancy.  I was really having second thoughs about the practice and hospital toady, but as soon as I talked to Dr. Johnson all my concerns went away.  YEA for peace of mind!

I'm sleeping so much better now.  I still toss and turn, but I'm able to go right back to sleep.  I have also noticed that my dreams are becoming more disturbing and more vivid.  I don't like that one bit.  Last night I woke up in tears, shaking, and sweating from a horrible nightmare.  It's so werid how pregnancy can affect so many aspects (like dreams).

Hudson at 23 months!

Holy Cow!  In just one month Hudson will be TWO YEARS OLD!!!

In the past month he has really changed!

Hudson can really communicate now and that is really wonderful!  He knows to say please and thank you and I'm sorry when he does something that isn't kind.  Hudson is a sweet sensitive soul with a tough boy shell.  He climbs, jumps, slides, runs, falls....  But he also has found a new affinity for coloring, EVERYTHING!  hehe  I love watching him grow and change.

Some of his most recent developments:
  • In the past few days Hudson has started letting me know when he has just gone "pee pee"  "Poo Poo" or poddy.  At least he is aware now and that is always a step in the right direction.  Hopefully in the next few weeks he will want to try to use the toilet... we will see.
  • He understands when he does something that isn't nice or kind and will immediately say "I Sorry" (usually).  Very sweet!
  • Hudson can count to 10 all by himself.  Every now and then he skips a number, but for the most part he is a little rock star!
  • When we go out, Hudson becomes quite the little socialite.  He likes to wave and say hello to everyone!  It is so cute and everyone laughs and thinks he is just the cutest thing.  I of coarse love hearing that.  It will never get old.
  • We read The Little Red Caboose to Hudson about a million times a day.  It is by far his favorite book.  He loves being read to, but he would be perfectly content hearing this story over and over again all day.  Anyway, he has heard it so many times that he knows the words (not word for word, but paraphrases what is happening) just by the pictures on the page.  So he can "read" the book to Steve and I with surprising accuracy.  Can you tell we are impressed with this child?!?!
  • He has FINALLY started calling my mom by a consistent name.  My dad has been "PawPaw" for a few months now, but he had yet to call my mom anything.  hehe It was driving her crazy.  Well a few weeks ago he dubbed her "Fawna" ... We kept trying to get him to say Grandma, but it kept coming out "Fawna" and when he put it together that my mom (grandma) is "Fawna" he has been calling her that ever sense.  Ever day he asks about "PawPaw & Fawna".  I tell him that they are at home at their house.  He acts like he understands, but will without a doubt ask again the next day.
  • Hudson has become a bit of a picky eater... I don't know if it is just a stage or if it is because of those pesky canine teeth that are all coming in at once.  Either way he is all about chicken, eggs, apples, and pudding.  Everything else is a total crap-shoot depending on the day.
  • Hudson is still a pretty cuddly kid, especially when he watches his new favorite TV show THOMAS THE TRAIN.  Before it comes on he yells at the TV "Come on Thomas"!  It is so funny to see him get so excited!  hehe  I am just glad he is out of the Yo Gabba Gabba obsession.  That show drove me crazy, but he was infatuated with it for a few weeks.  Shooo
  • Hudson is in size 5 diapers still and size 6 1/2 shoes.  Size 18 month clothes no longer fit him and he has moved on to 24 month-2T.  Unfortunately we don't have many 24 month-2T cloths, so I guess we will be needing to go shopping soon.
  • Hudson LOVES to play with building blocks and Legos now.  He also loves to "shoot hoops".  It is so fun to watch him run around throwing the ball to no one then chase it down, take it to the net and shoot.   hehe  At my parents house he also loves to play with their kitchen set.  He likes to bring people play food and drinks, and talk on the phone.  It is crazy that he has started to imagine and pretend when just a few short months ago, that wasn't the case.
  • When we tell Hudson to smile, he closes his eyes, gives us a big toothy smile, and turns his head from side to side.  It is the funniest thing ever!  I don't know why he things smiling involves closing his eyes so tight like that, but he does.  HILARIOUS!
I (we) are totally and completely obsessed with this little boy.  He has brought nothing but joy into our lives.  We do have our moments, but we couldn't have asked for a better child.  If what they say is true, and the second child is completely different from the first, we are in a world of trouble.  :)  I kid.  We are just so honored to be Hudson's parents and proud of the sweet, independent, loving, smart little boy he is becoming.  We love you very much Hudson.  There isn't a thing you could do or say that would make us love you any less.  We love watching you grow and change.  Every stage is more and more fun and exciting.  I love watching you experience the world with fresh eyes.  You are a blessing and we love you more than you will ever know.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

12 weeks with baby #2

Today marks 12 weeks and boy am I excited!

I mentioned before that this pregnancy was very different from my first.  I am so thankful that for the past week I have started feeling a lot better.  My insomnia is getting better, as is my "morning sickness".  I haven't thrown up in a few days!!!  I still gag (a lot) but we are headed in the right direction and that's all that matters!  My energy is coming back and I couldn't be happier about that!  Hudson is happier too because I can give him the attention he deserves and needs.  Because I am feeling more spunky, I started exercising again!  I am trying to walk for at least 30-60 minutes most days, stretch, push ups, squats, and do calf raises.

Emotionally, I think I'm much more stable than I was when I was pregnant with Hudson.  I don't feel like I have major mood swings and can keep my emotions in check (for the most part).  :)

At 12 weeks:
  • Baby #2 is the size of a plum.  That's not very big, but I am already noticing that I can't sleep on my stomach very long without getting super uncomfortable.  Thank goodness for pillows.
  • Every once in a while I think I feel a little flutter, but I am not 100% sure it's the baby.  So, Ill say its not until I know with out a doubt.
  • I wear a mix of normal and maternity clothes.  I am on the hunt for cute maternity jeans and am thinking this weekend would be a great time to go shopping!  Poor Steve....
  • I look pregnant sometimes, but other times I look pretty normal...  I think it's mostly bloat, so I don't think I'm really showing yet.  I hope I don't for at least a month because I'm in a wedding in a couple weeks and would really like to not have to tell everyone....
  • I don't really have any cravings right now, but sweets are not appealing (well, sometimes they are).  Maybe that means we are having another boy?!?!
  • I haven't done any shopping or begun preparing in any way... such a slacker.  I have started "thinking" about names, but haven't come up with anything I'm in love with.
