So much has happened, but trying to write it all down seems pretty impossible. Hudson is changing so much daily and the house...well it's coming along :) So far we have been here two weeks and are really getting adjusted to our new home. We are still waiting on furniture and rugs and appliances, but that's it.
Hudson and I have been venturing out almost every day to explore the area and find fun things to do. We have been to splash parks, pools, a farm, and a zoo. He is having a blast and to be completely honest, so am I. I love seeing Hudson so happy.
Steve is enjoying his new position at work. I think he likes being in the thick of things now. I'm so proud of him. He works so hard and still comes home to play with Hudson or take family walks. Ahhh I just love him so much. :)
Life is BUSY BUSY BUSY.
Life is pretty amazing.
Hudson is AWESOME and we love him so much.
Steve is the BEST husband.
I am one lucky lady.
We are so thankful.
God is so good.

Milestone and random thoughts
HUDSON DRANK OUT OF A BIG BOY CUP ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!!
He held it, tilted it, drank out of it (without spilling too much), sent the cup back down, and clapped for himself!
So freaking adorable!
This week has been fun! Hudson and I have been running around and going lots of fun places. On Monday we had contractors come out to our house and we cleaned. Hudson is such a good little helper.
On Tuesday we went to the zoo with Katie and her daughter Bailey. We know each other through our husbands. It was so nice of Katie to invite us to go with her and it was so much fun catching up! Hudson loved all the animals. He got to pet some goats and a turtle. His favorite exhibit was the penguins! He laughed and squealed when they jumped in the water and swam by the glass. It was so cute to watch him get so excited!
On Wednesday we ran errands then checked out a local park by our house. It is/was a playground and splash park. I didn't bring Hudson's swim shorts, but he didn't care. He loved running through the water. I don't think I have ever seen him get so excited! SERIOUSLY! His facial expressions and sounds were pure delight! We came home for nap time then headed over to our neighborhood pool. It was our first time there! I was pleased. Everyone was very nice and the pool area was just beautiful. They even have a separate adult only pool that has a waterfall!!!! WHAT?!?!? haha Hudson and I played in the "everyone can swim" pool. He loved watching all the people jump off the diving board and would count for them "two, wee, ump". We are working on "ONE, two three" but haven't had much luck yet. Hudson enjoyed jumping off the wall into my arms and blowing bubbles. I think he was really just drinking the water and laughing.... Something to work on. :) It was such a fun day.
Today, we were going to go to a farm and feed/pet animals and pick strawberries but the weather wasn't good. We actually drove about 20 minutes and had to turn around. We got caught in a big storm and I just couldn't see us being able to do anything. Hopefully we can go soon.
It has been such a fun week and I am really getting use to the area. I LOVE our new house. I love our new neighborhood, and I love all the nice people we have met so far! The only thing I just don't know if I will ever get use to... having to get on a freeway AND an interstate just to get to Bed Bath and Beyond or Home Depot!!! WE are so accustomed to just driving 2 minutes up the road to get ANYWHERE. Here the city is so spread out it seems like it takes at least 20 minutes to get anywhere. I will say that so far traffic hasn't been nearly as bad. There may be more lights and it might take a while to get from point A to point B, but there is a lot less traffic altogether (or so it seems)! I have fond that there are a lot more free and fun things to do with kids here. That's always nice! :)

This past weekend Steve and I FINALLY got to a place where we can live comfortably in our new house. Most of the unpacking is finished. The house has been cleaned, and we even were able to get lots of yard work done! Shoooo I'm still tired! haha
Grillin' out!
Playing b-ball with the family! :)
This is Hudson's FUNNY FACE!!!
Here are some pictures of all our hard work!
The grass is mowed, weeds are pulled, branches trimmed...
If you look really close, you can see the flowers I planted too!!! O and I also tried to trim up those weird tree/bushes out front. They were a complete mess, so they are defiantly better, but...
The backyard! I just love the trees!
My parents came to visit Saturday afternoon and stayed the night with us. We grilled out and they helped us fix some things around the house! LOVE THEM!

Hudson at 20 months!
Hudson,
You have had a lot going on lately. We recently moved, and you have done a wonderful job adjusting to your new home. You are such a sweet and happy boy. Aside from the location change, you are getting in lots of teeth and began putting words together to form sentences and phrases! Your daddy and I are pretty amazed with how much of a little person you are now! You are such a big boy! You love playing outside and going to the park. The swings are still your favorite, but slides are coming in at a close second. When it's time to go inside you cry and flail... it's alright though. I love that you LOVE playing outdoors. Recently, you started taking interest in Sadie, but especially Milo. You love that cat so much it's crazy! I bet you say his name at least 100 times a day and light up every time you see him. You love petting him, grabbing his tail, laying on him, and meowing at him! :)
I think you might be getting close to potty training time. You have started taking interest in the toilet which you call "Pee Pee". hehe I can't help but laugh at that. Anyway, you love flushing the "pee pee" and get excited and point to it every time you see it. I tried to sit you on it the other day but you just sat there laughing.... haha o-well. We will slowly start introducing you to it so hopefully it isn't a big traumatic ordeal.
You had your first big boy bath without your little whale tub insert this week! You love being able to go from one end of the tub to the other! Bath time is always fun with you.
Tonight after we got back from the grocery store, you helped us cary in our bags!! You may have drug it across the cement and dropped it a few times, but you got that bag to the kitchen! You have also been helping me swiffer/dust the floor! You run around the whole house just sweeping away. I don't know why you like it so much, but I really appreciate all the help! I hope you are always so eager to help your daddy and I around the house. :)
We love you so much Hudson!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

House #2, Hello new house!
Welcome to our "NEW" home!
WOW! The past few days have been crazy! Sunday morning the movers came to unload all of our stuff at the new house! There was a little hiccup with access to our new house, but it was taken care of quickly.
My parents and sister AND Steve's parents were all here to help us move in. We are so thankful that they were able and willing to come help because it was chaos and would have been next to impossible without them.
Hudson was a little unsure at first (As were our pets) but each day he is better and better. I think now that we finished his room, he will be just fine.
Our closing on the house was actually on Monday. After signing all the paperwork, the house was ours! It was such a weird feeling knowing that it was truly ours!
We have been working non stop for the past five days, trying to unpack, organize, and clean. We are almost done. I think in another day or so we would be done! YEA!
Hudson has been sleeping in our closet (yes closet) because we don't have a video monitor yet. We are so use to his room being right next door to ours. Now his room is on an entirely different floor.... I think it will work out fine, but I'm just not comfortable letting him sleep through the night that far away without some kind of baby monitor. Hopefully our new baby monitor will arrive soon.
We love the house and couldn't be happier with the neighborhood. There is a beautiful park that Hudson just loves. Did I mention there are tons of deer here? So far we have seen three, two of which were in our backyard! Hopefully the weather will clear up so we can get outside and do some more exploring!!!!

Saying goodbye to our first home
After two (almost three) long months of planning and packing, the time has arrived! We are moving! For the past month we have been working on packing up all of our belongings. It's so weird, because when we moved into our house we had empty rooms. Now, our house is completely full.
Steve and I both laughed (after we were done packing) that it took a lot longer to box everything up than we ever could have imagined!
The movers came Thursday morning, and Wednesday night we were still scrambling to finish up. Thankfully, my parents came in on Wednesday and helped us out. I don't know what we would have done without them.
The movers arrived around 10:00am and stayed until 7:00pm. Two trucks were filled to the max and it took a crew of about 5 men to do it all. It was a LONG day to say the least. My parents took Hudson and our dog back to there house around noon so they wouldn't be around when all of our stuff was being moved.
After everyone had left, Steve and I looked around at our empty and very dirty house.... It was so weird to see our home, the place where so many memories were made, reduced to a shell. We didn't dwell on it long though, because we had a lot of cleaning to do. Steve and I went ahead and vacuumed the whole house and cleaned the bathrooms. We finally left a little after eight.
Walking out of the house for the last time and pulling out of the driveway was bittersweet. It's really hard to put into words all the emotions we were feeling and thoughts we had. Leaving meant saying goodbye to the past. It was the period at the end of a sentence on the last page of a wonderful book. I don't know if that makes sense at all, but it's the best I can do right now.
Steve and I had dinner and drinks at Josie's near our "old" house. After dinner we stayed the night at a hotel. I'm so glad Steve didn't insist we stay at the house and sleep on the floor. I need to sleep in a big soft bed. I was so tired! Steve was too. We ended up sleeping in until 9:30am!!! Living on the edge people! haha
Friday we were supposed to close on both properties. Our closing on our old house was SUPPOSED to be at 9:00am and the closing on our new house was SUPPOSED to be at 11:00am. Well, two days earlier everything started unraveling. We found out that loans hadn't been submitted to underwriting in time for many parties and closings were up in the air. WE WERE LESS THAN PLEASED. We ended up closing on our old house around 2:30pm. The new owner and her children were/are so nice. We talked as if we were longtime friends. After that closing we headed over to the closing on our new house. We were told strings had been pulled and we would be able to do a dry closing. Well, we got there and the attorney didn't have the paperwork and we were told we couldn't close until monday!!!!
Steve and I lost it! Everything fell apart even though we did everything we were told to do ON TIME. PEOPLE WE WERE WORKING WITH DROPPED THE BALL. The closing date had been set for over two months and they still didn't get it done.... AHHHHHHHH We had already switched over utilities and had the movers were coming on Sunday! Everything was such a mess.
I'm still mad that everything went wrong, but our realtor was able to work it out so that we could keep our move in date (sunday) . I am very thankful for this. We will move in then close on the house the next day (monday) AND because of the colossal screwup, we no longer have to drive back to lexington on monday to close. Everyone from the bank, realtors, and attorneys will be driving to our new home to close there. We are very happy about this. Never in a million years did we think this was going to happen, but it did, and thankfully it looks like everything will work out.
So, that brings us to today. It's Saturday night. We are watching the Pacers game and getting ready to move in to our new home TOMORROW!!!! We are so excited. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight and be ready for another long day. :) We really hope there are no more "surprises" and everything goes smoothly.
To Be Continued....
